Play with ‘Tree of Life’
Tengah is the first holistic public housing project in Singapore with green, sustainable features. The entire town was designed with nature theme and community-centric mind. Every community space has enchanting play sculptures.
With their intriguing motifs of trees, fruits and vegetables, the thematic playgrounds attract all age groups of children. The centerpiece called ‘Tree of Life’ is inspired by a rubber tree. The striking play tower tells the stories of the Plantation District.
‘KOMPAN has been striving to design greener solutions, and for us, coming from the design team, we are happy and proud to be a part of this mission.’
Phil Chan, Solution Designer, KOMPAN Asia
More play, less carbon footprint
Children love these playgrounds because they offer the thrill of height and speed, and endless play activities to explore.
Climbing to the top of the large play structures challenges children to use their body strength and cross-coordination skills. It also encourages them to communicate and team up for a fun challenge. For younger children, the mini tree house, inspired by cocoa trees, trains their spatial awareness and cross-coordination when climbing or crawling onto the platform via the stairs. It also trains their trunk stability and sense of balance when the toddlers are sliding out.
Use of recycled raw materials and natural Robinia timber contribute to lessen carbon footprint from the production of playground.
