Breathing space in the concrete jungle

Singapore, the world’s second most densely populated country, recognizes the importance of offering outdoor activity spaces for its residents. The town council of the Yishun Riverwalk community wanted to create a spot for social enjoyment and exercise in their densely built local area. For the residents, the playground feels spacious and enables them to be active near their homes. Space is precious, so the solution was a three-fold activity area with play and exercise activities for all ages. It has quickly become the focal point of collective life. In a country with such close-proximity, the area provides outdoor exercise, a playground for school-age children and a second for toddlers.

I think it’s spacious… A big area for the kids to run around and exhaust them completely.

Play value for all ages

The playgrounds offer opportunities for social interaction and growth development. The large Elements play system, with its impressive height, attracts children from the whole community. With a variety of climbing, sliding and swaying play events, children train their cross-body coordination and balance. The six BLOQXs offers thrilling climbing experiences, whilst providing room for socialising and exchange. For toddlers, the Forest Giraffe is an attractive place to train fundamental motor skills such as proprioception. Its many entrances and transparent design make it ideal for toddlers, evoking their logical understanding of space and for caregivers and parents it enables them to be part of the play activities.
