A Revitalized Oasis in Rockhampton
The Botanical Gardens and the neighbouring Zoo in Rockhampton are two of the city’s biggest attractions. But the garden playground was due for a much-needed revitalisation and the local council wanted it to add to the area's attraction and create another activity for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Inspired by the animals in the zoo, KOMPAN’s design with a custom Robinia dingo sculpture and majestic Giants tower perfectly suited the brief in creating a landmark site for the gardens. Rich in thrilling, imaginative play and emphasising inclusive play elements, the pairing play structures offer hours and hours of play for children of all ages.
We've been blown away by the response to the park, and we had a grand reopening where we had hundreds of families and kids come and attend. So it was truly special to be a part of. Since then, we're seeing the visitations just really go up.

A Playground Paradise
The Robinia sculpture is the definition of WOW as it stands tall and bright among the native Australian trees and acts as a beacon of fun as children enter the gardens. Younger children can climb inside from various access points and play out imaginative stories before sliding down.
After playing on the Dingo sculpture and the neighbouring MOMENTS playhouse and Mars Rover, children of all ages and abilities can progress through the tall GIANTS towers by climbing or enjoying the play elements on the accessible ramp. Children will discover endless play opportunities with the track ride, climbing ropes, sensory musical panels, hammocks, bridges, cliff rider, turbo challenge, five tummy-tingling slides and more.
