Planting new seeds of Nature Play into the community
Taylor Farm Park is a sprawling 99-acre green space outside of Richmond, Virginia. Once a family-owned farm dating back to 1858, the land was acquired in part of a 2016 Henrico County bond referendum. Today, the park will help families harvest new memories and immerse themselves in multiple natural elements on one nature-based playground.
“We worked with KOMPAN from the earliest planning meetings, and that allowed us to shape the land, the water features and the play equipment into a dynamic, unique destination playground. Taylor Farm Park is our largest play equipment installation, and by far, Henrico County’s most talked about park.”

A towering treehouse and endless rope play
The custom Robinia towers blend seamlessly into the wooded landscape. A rope bridge connects the structures and allows children to traverse over a stream flowing throughout the playspace. A sweeping custom COROCORD net was designed to wrap around existing trees and offer exciting rope play. Multiple Ziplines and a Cocowave Pendulum Swing continue thrills for kids both young and old! For the littlest ones, a “Tot Tree” provides age-appropriate fun for children ages 2-5. Play is made inclusive with a Universal Carousel, an accessible ramp connecting to an ADA Tree tower, and pour-in-place surfacing.
As a participating agency of OMNIA Partners, Henrico County leveraged a competitively solicited contract that was awarded by a lead public agency to satisfy their compliancy needs and streamline the purchasing process. Through the long-standing and strategic partnership with KOMPAN and Henrico County, OMNIA Partners was also able to provide invaluable support and transparency throughout the project.
