Handhold
Physical
the possibility to hold onto more areas of the handhold ensures a good grip, necessary for spinning intensely. This trains the hand and arm muscles.
The Rock-it is a magnificent piece of equipment which encourages cooperative amongst tweens and teen as a result of its compact design. The adequate handhold on the top of the centre beam allows for a firm grip and encourages users to use their upper body muscles, which are often underused in older children. Leg and core muscles are put to the test by the pulling and pushing to make the Rock-it rock. Healthy competition is often seen when using the Rock-It as tweens love to test out their negotiation and teamwork skills when formulating games.

Play value is the value gained from play, the value that makes the child 'want' or developmentally 'need' to undertake the activity and thus gives the play item holding power. Play value can be described very precisely in developmental terms, looking into the human physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental stages.

This product, Rock-It (GXY934), is provided by KOMPAN Australia.
The steel surfaces of GALAXY are hot-dip galvanised inside and outside with lead-free zinc. The galvanisation has excellent corrosion resistance and requires low maintenance.
The upper round handle is made with a galvanised steel insert and covered with soft PUR rubber with groves that ensures good handhold while rocking.
The deck is made from High-Pressure Laminate HPL with a thickness 17.8mm and non-skid surface texture according to EN 438-6. KOMPAN HPL has high wearing strength to ensure longevity in all climates.
The rocking movement over two axes is made by heavy duty scaled ROSTA torsion spring element. The two ROSTA elements are noise-free and are maintenance-free.
Galaxy products are available in different colour combinations with either hot-dip galvanised steel surface treatment or a powder-coated finish to selected steel components. Colours of the activities are adjusted to support the individual colour combination.

The overall framework applied for these factors is the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which quantifies "environmental information on the life cycle of a product and enables comparisons between products fulfilling the same function" (ISO, 2006). This follows the structure and applies a Life-Cycle Assessment approach to the entire Product stage, from raw material through manufacturing (A1-A3).
