Tons of fun in a compact space: The Castle Gatehouse attracts children to play actively, using their motor skills to climb to the top, navigate the nets, and slide or glide to the ground. The two access points vary in difficulty: the stairs provide an age-appropriate access to the tower and helps to develop confidence with climbing stairs, an important everyday task. The inclined net climb is higher and takes more concentration, developing proprioception and cross-coordination. The open, inclined bridge is a true challenge, training balance skills and spatial awareness. To get back to ground level, children can train their balance and posture with the slide or feel the thrilling sensation with the fireman's pole. Under the tower, a treasure chest and bench invite social interaction, dramatic play and language development.

Play Value

Play value is the value gained from play, the value that makes the child 'want' or developmentally 'need' to undertake the activity and thus gives the play item holding power. Play value can be described very precisely in developmental terms, looking into the human physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental stages.
