Wish granted for young and old!

In October 2018, KOMPAN installed a custom natural playground, equipped with the US's first Robina castle, in Covington, Indiana. The small town has a population of 2,500 people and is 50 miles from the nearest large city.

While the idea for a wooden playground castle came from the local kids, neither they, nor their parents, could have predicted the royal treatment in growth the community would soon see...

Thriving would be an understatement. The ripple effect was, without a doubt, initiated by the park improvement, and it continues.

A crowning achievement in astronomical growth

We discovered that three years into the playground's "reign," donors made additional investments into other recreational spaces like the neighboring municipal pool and golf course, a subdivision of 40 homes was constructed and quickly sold out, and property values saw a $30,000 increase, independent of overall real estate market growth.

The natural, wooden aesthetic of the majority of the playground equipment (the swings, springers, play structures, and natural obstacle course) blends in with the surrounding park and green spaces. Word has spread about this charming, small town amenity, and it's attracting visitors near and far! From the grandparents convinced to move to Covington so they're closer to family, to the roadtrippers eager to get off the nearby interstate, out of the car, and refreshed by a small dose of movement in nature, Covington has seen the true impact and influence that comes with a landmark playground.
