How to make an inclusive playground? Boy spinning in a spinnerbowl

The reward of thrill in universal play designs

KOMPAN aims to make playgrounds more inclusive by drawing upon formulas associated with universal play. Simply stated - We want to unite children in play!

Children of all abilities want to participate in thrilling play activities with friends. Cooperative play between children with disabilities and typically developing children benefits both groups because it helps develop self-efficiency, tolerance, and empathy.

The following study examines the degree to which non-specialized, age-appropriate play equipment and playgrounds can be usable by children with mobility and learning disabilities, as well as by typically developing children. Inclusive playgrounds aren’t more complicated, more time-consuming, or bigger than other playgrounds. The White Paper below provides the insight needed to make a well-informed decision about what types of playgrounds are truly inclusive and highly thrilling for all users.
