Boroughbridge Town Council wanted to create a much-needed enclosed and safe sports area, as the children of Boroughbridge had no secure space to play ball games. Local school grounds had previously been used, but due to safeguarding restrictions, they were no longer available.

Boroughbridge as a town had almost doubled in size over the past few years, increasing the need for this type of facility for young people. A survey was conducted, revealing strong support for the project, with contributions from both the local primary and high schools. The council also gathered feedback through their social media channels, receiving highly positive responses.

Town Councillors Pauline and John initially approached KOMPAN in 2023 to create two MUGA court options. The Town Council then published and advertised their tender, to which KOMPAN submitted two proposals – heavy duty and medium duty. We were thrilled to learn that the council had chosen KOMPAN and opted for our heavy-duty option.
