A city devastated by climate change

The city of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler has experienced the devastating consequences of climate change. In 2021, parts of the city were flooded by the nearby river, ruining public spaces and residents' houses.

Acknowledging the importance of choosing eco-friendly public amenities after this disaster, the city council decided that the new playground should have a sustainable profile. They chose a low-carbon GreenLine playground made from waste materials like textile, plastic bags and fishing nets.
