Creating a Safe Play Space For The Whole Community
The previous play area was in dire need of refurbishment. The local community were constantly telling the Parish Council very strongly that they needed things for the children to do in a safe environment. The Parish Council after receiving this feedback made the bold decision to get a brand new play area that would be the best in the district. The Parish Council then approached six play companies with a brief for proposals and designs, before narrowing it down to two companies to do presentations. The council were then unanimous that the KOMPAN proposal was the best and most exciting design and therefore the clear winner. Within our proposed design we included a large and imposing Mega Deck multiplay unit, a double Robinia Cableway, various types of swings and other challenging play items.
We also included many inclusive and accessible play elements as there is an SEN School very close by making it perfect for them to visit too. The toddler area within the play area would include many ground-level play items and activity panels as well as play features and shapes incorporated into the bright coloured surfacing.
“I was so excited on the day that we were opening the playground. We’d invited the local schools to come down, let the kids have the first official play on the new area. They were so pleased to be playing on the new equipment. It was absolutely wonderful to see. We have really worked well with KOMPAN. We have a good working relationship. We have a good working relationship with Millie our local representative and it has worked out really well.”
