An Inclusive space for all
Fife Council briefed they wanted an inclusive park that everyone could enjoy, with that in mind our designers made sure the bespoke design included sensory activities to stimulate the main senses and to naturally encourage children to create, investigate and explore the space. There’s dynamic play in the form of swings, spinners and inclusive wheelchair roundabout and swing…. and of course, the racing double cableway. Which is always a hit with children (and adults!)
"I have no doubt that this park will become a cherished destination for families from near and far. It’s great to finally see this project come to life, and the smiles on the kids' faces today reminds us why projects like this are so important. It's not just a playpark; it's a space where kids can explore, learn, and make memories that'll last a lifetime.”
Councilor Alex Campbell, Convener for Cowdenbeath Area Committee
Fun by the Loch-side
This is a play area for all age groups, offering a richness of experience for a wide range of skill levels and mobility, creating not just a destination play area but also a social and inclusive space for all in the community. The shelter and picnic area provides a place to relax from play, a quiet space for children with autism. There is a musical station and sensory arch which in turn are sheltered by a wetpour mound. The creation of the mound provides a sense of wonder for small children as not all the equipment is visible at once… this provides excitement for children as they explore and discover what’s on the other side!
Councilor Linda Erskine, Spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, shared her excitement about the new playpark, stating: "Having attended many meetings of the Friends of Lochore Meadows and requesting the capital funding for this project, I am truly delighted that we are now opening what will be a great facility in the park. This represents a significant investment in our community's well-being and a testament to our commitment to providing accessible and inclusive recreational opportunities for everyone. The park will not only allow kids to be creative but also encourages social interaction and physical activity among our young people and I look forward to seeing families enjoying themselves here for years to come.“
