Farmyard Fun

The play area at Muiravonside Country Park had become outdated and was in urgent need of an upgrade. Following a tender process and extensive community consultation, Falkirk Council appointed KOMPAN to create a new destination play space. As Falkirk's only country park, Muiravonside spans 170 acres of beautiful woodland and parkland and is well-known for its demonstration farm, where visitors can see Highland cows, rabbits, ferrets, exotic birds, and more. This distinctive identity inspired KOMPAN’s designers to adopt a farmyard theme for the new play area.

The play area has been designed to be inclusive, with accessible play equipment throughout, including a sensory area. A key part of the design involved removing existing steps to ensure easy access for all. Children can encounter cows, chickens, ducks, mice, sheep, and, of course, the farm cat within the play area. The design would not have been complete without KOMPAN’s signature large red tractor, offering hours of imaginative play. The new play area has been a huge hit with visitors and perfectly embodies KOMPAN’s ‘wow, stay, develop’ philosophy.
