An oasis in the City of Love

Inner city space is precious, especially in Paris, where there are 25,000 people per square kilometer in the 14th Arrondissement. Despite being an area with almost back-to-back high density apartments, the city commune has managed to create some breathing space. In 2004 they established The Garden of ZAC Didot. A section of this small area was designated as a playground, a vital energy-release valve for the young community. The challenge, recently met by KOMPAN, was to get as much breadth and potential as possible into a space about the size of a tennis court.

The project was to dynamize the garden of ZAC Didot, situated in the heart of a housing zone. a new and modern playground aims to invite people living around, and create life in the area.

A quality solution in a small city space

Walking through the garden, you will come across the traditional KOMPAN features that have always been popular, the Crazy Gander, horse seesaw and slides. Along with a Tipi Carousel with Top Brace and a castle that leads to the popular track ride, the compact area is crammed with potential for the young Parisians. The wide range of products ensure that the children are being challenged socially, physically, cognitively and creatively when playing in the garden.

Physical
Joy of movement: motor skills, muscle, cardio and bone density
Cognitive
Joy of learning: curiosity, understanding of causal relationships and knowledge of the world
Social-Emotional
Joy of being together: teamwork, tolerance and sense of belonging
Creative
Joy of creating: co-creation and experimenting with materials
