Nurturing early learning through play

Learning Ladder Early Learning Centres aim to be state-of-the-art childcare facilities that are caring, safe, supportive, warm, happy and stimulating - and their Watsonia location is no exception.

The centre's philosophy of empowering the whole child by creating meaningful learning experiences that promote overall wellbeing is perfectly demonstrated in the new play areas, which use imaginative, age-appropriate pieces to stimulate, inspire and facilitate happy and healthy toddlers and children.

For the educators at Learning Ladder, play is more than just preoccupying children. We want our little ones to be learning, developing, and challenged through play, and I think that’s what we’ve achieved here with the new equipment. The kids absolutely love it.

Compact layout, maximum play value!

Across the two levels of the early learning centre, beloved themes are brought to life through rich and engaging play units to spur the development of infants, toddlers and young children.

Downstairs, the open steam engine play unit invites children of all abilities with the combination of spatial shapes - open, closed to the sides, and roofed - the child can meander through different rooms, training the sense of space as it crawls, climbs or moves around. The mini Castle Spire Tower piques the imagination with multiple levels of medieval fun.

The mini sandplay units, automotive-themed springers and slides are perfectly sized for little adventurers with bright colours and interesting shapes. Around the corner, the Village Shop and Forest Cottage are social meeting points where cubby-house play comes easily with enticing timber play equipment, unique contours and natural textures.

Upstairs, the Castello castle inspires children to engage in physical, social and dramatic play again and again with a classic theme. The accompanying Barn and Play Tower with Slide create a space where many stories can flourish and be played out for rewarding learning experiences. A jumper adds thrill while the collaborative sand play teaches crucial social skills and understanding of cause-and-effect, stimulating curious minds and cognitive development.
