“Videogames are kinda boring when you can just go outside, go on a playground, make friends and have fun”
Why stay inside, when you can go outside on a playground and meet new friends? There is no doubt that kids love the new playground at Moncrieff Recreation Park, and for good reason - this extraordinary playground is filled with fun activities for kids of all ages. In fact, there is so much fun that the kids would rather go to the playground and meet new friends, than spend their time in front of a computer screen playing videogames. When planning a new suburb of Canberra, developers wanted to create something unique. Through a great relationship with KOMPAN, the developers and landscape architects worked on designing a customized playground to serve as a big, bold gesture in the heart of the Moncrieff community. The result, a playground in vibrant sunset colors, where kids will not be bored within 15 to 20 minutes, but instead after hours. The playground turned out truly extraordinary and took top honours in the Play Space category at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects ACT Chapter Awards in 2018.
The way that the play area has been designed and structured allows kids to come out here and not be bored within 15-20 minutes, they will be bored after 4-5 hours.

Why kids love it so much
Between the three Corocord towers the vibrant playground is full of fun challenges for kids to explore. A climb to the top of the towers will challenge children to use their body strength and cross-coordination skills. Once at the top, the kids’ achievement is rewarded with a thrilling trip down the slide for playgrounds. The elevated levels of the playground encourage the kids to climb up and down and develop important physical skills. The playground's great selection of age-appropriate activities makes sure that kids of all ages will be entertained and playing for hours on end.
