Inspiration Behind the Project
South Lychett Manor Caravan and Camping Park is family owned and set in over 20 acres of tranquil parkland. It was also the AA’s Campsite of the Year for 2021-22. This Touring, Glamping and Camping site is located just three miles from Poole, nine miles from Bournemouth and thirteen miles from the beautiful Jurassic Coastline. South Lytchett Manor is widely considered one of the best family friendly camping and caravan sites in Dorset. Over the years they’ve invested heavily in their facilities for visiting families. Their initial brief stated a multi-play for younger children and a Bird’s Nest Swing were essential to the design. Other items were carefully selected as KOMPAN designed the play area together with the owners over a coffee in their site office.

Proudly promoted on their website, the playground now gives families an additional reason to visit South Lychett Manor and its many local attractions. It is a hive of activity during the school holidays and provides the perfect setting for children to make new friends and spend time in the great outdoors. Situated in a central location close to the touring and camping pitches, it now boasts a wide selection of play equipment, with something to suit children of all ages and abilities. It’s a lovely place to spend a couple of hours, before winding down for bed.
