Robinia Equipment Building Happier Schools
ACS International School, Cobham is an independent school catering for local and international families. The brief was to provide a new natural looking play space for all abilities and to be age appropriate. It was important that we considered all of the feedback received from the staff and children as to the type of activities wanted and to also be flexible in our design approach, in order to provide a facility that was right for them.
“I want to let you know how well our new playground has been received by the students and families. There is something there for everyone. All the thought, time, conversations, advise and patience you had with us paid off, because we got a playground that not only looks good, but provides the appropriate challenge for all ages, encourages different type of play, provides opportunities for the children to develop their balance, coordination and strength. It is an ideal playground!”
Jane Kullmann, Lower School Associate Principal, Early Childhood
Long Lasting Maximum Play With A Positive Outcome
The fact that wooden playground equipment may be less vulnerable to the vandalism that frequently takes place in play areas is another significant benefit. For instance, it's quite challenging to write on wooden playground equipment using a pen or paint.
By using our design software tool, Outdoor Planner, we were able to develop the design together online and then followed up with several face to face meetings which ensured the correct solution. The result is a beautiful looking play area that caters for the Early Years students and offers the right play opportunities and maximum play value.
