The Caroussel is a classic playground magnet which attracts children again and again. The secret of its success is the immediate response it gives children: when they move, it spins them right back. The roomy platform allows for seated, standing, even lying, spins. This accomodates users of a span of ages and abilities. When standing, the handholds offer a firm grip. This may be necessary on exhilarating wild rides. Apart from being great fun, the caroussel offers great muscle training when children kick the caroussel into motion. The spinning also trains crucial motor skills such as the senses of balance and space. These are fundamental for judging distances and for instance navigating streets securely. The sense of balance also makes it possible for children to sit still on a chair. So carousels are more than mere fun.
